April 23, 2003 Mr. Jonathan Marcus Dear Jonathan, Many times people wait until someone has passed away to begin to extend credit where it is due. I have deliberately strived to not be named in that group. As you know I met your Dad when the company was Grafstein's in Santa Ana when we lived in California but I never had the opportunity of meeting you. I met you about 5 to 6 years ago and have worked with you repeatedly since that time, so the things we express to you in this note are not just in passing. I wanted to personally write you in order to ensure that everything my wife and I think and feel is expressed. We are humbled by the kindness and courtesy you have shown us over the years. Today it is very rare to find a young man of your social and economic status to treat people the way you do your customers. As you well know, we live in a colored society as opposed to the colorless society people claim we do, therefore our appreciation is not extended superficially. We have seen on our two visits to your new location that you have an enormous responsibility and the weight of it would begin to show with most people but it has not with you for which we greatly commend you. Lastly, as a father on behalf of another father, I thank you for being there for and with your dad as well as for your mom. I am sure your dad realizes the value you bring to the business by being at his side protecting his investments in terms of the customers, merchandise and now a beautiful facility. Jonathan, never grow weary, for in due season you will reap a bounty for your faithfulness and devotion to your parents and the business. As always, the watches are exquisite and thank you for making my wife's day with the pen and pearls. When you get a free moment, you can have someone to write up new consignments on the watches after which you can call me when it is convenient (please do not rush yourself) so that we can go over the numbers or you can e-mail me at [email protected]. Again, we THANK YOU!!! |
