Well I could not believe that the watch was the problem so I spent time to get to know it and am happy to report operator error. I'm not so clever after all. I will keep the watch as I really do love it! Thanks for all your support. I am still interested in the cock pit model I am wondeirng? If I were to get the all stainless model with a leather band can I have a gold tang at 12 o'clock only? I ask this because my 51 year old eyes can not discern the markers that well and a gold marker would work if I am using the bezel as a timer.
